The University of Southampton recently hosted the Chalcogenide Advanced Manufacturing Partnership (ChAMP) open day, which was organised by Photonex. The day included lots of extremely interesting talks and posters on myriad aspects of chalcogenide science as well as an extensive industrial showcase of UK photonics suppliers, professional development tutorials and tours of the Zepler Institute cleanroom facilites. Vinita Mittal presented a poster entitled 'High contrast chalcogenide waveguides for mid-infrared biomedical sensing applications’ and enjoyed useful discussions with both academic and industrial attendees.
